The village pub in the heart of the city

We’ve been feeding and watering people at The Sheep Heid Inn for more that six centuries and we continue that tradition today.

 

For our daily menu our head chef has created a fresh offering which upholds what one would hope from a country pub with hearty portions, excellent value and none of usual stodge that often bulks out dishes in many pubs. We serve food from 12 pm to 8 pm every day, with last food orders taken at 7.45.

Advance booking is advisable at the weekend as space can be limited particularly with all those Sunday walkers fresh off of Arthur’s Seat anxious for a Sunday roast…

 

We can also on occasion cater for larger groups with one of our excellent set menus in our upstairs dining area. Ideal for birthday parties, office nights out, pre-wedding dinners, small tour groups and the like.

 

Food is also offered in the Skittle Alley for hungry bowlers and in the Summer months we operate a barbecue in the beer garden every single weekend.
